Preliminary findings
Preliminary findings suggest that the
value of including service user
stakeholders in the research design of
'Getting Involved in Research' has
helped to meaningfully improve the
service-user's centeredness of the
design including the coherence of the
related materials as well as increased
success in the recruitment and retention
of participants.
The motivation to attend and continue
participation in 'Getting into Research'
was a significant sign of it's success
especially given that the majority of
service users and other stakeholders
stated that their level of research skills,
confidence and knowledge was
significantly low. Preliminary findings
suggest that all the participants who
responded to the post-course survey
(n=21) enjoyed their experience of
'Getting Involved in Research'.
