Coastal smoke and ash soon make way for bergamot, orange zest, lemon and some hay before
becoming rather floral, heather smoke with the ash.
Bowmore 18 year 13
Spirity at first, then gives way to perfume, fruit, plum jam. A good sweetness, peat smoke.
Laphroaig 10 year 7.5
Seaweed-led, with a hint of vanilla ice cream and more than a whiff of notes from the first aid
box The oak is big, and muscles its way into the fore as you hold this whisky over your tongue.
An upsurge of spices develops - cardamom/black pepper/chilli.
Lagavulin 16 year 9.5
Very thick and rich. A massive mouthful of malt and Sherry with good fruity sweetness, but also
a wonderful sweetness. Big, powerful peat and oak.
LOWLANDS
Glenkinchie 12 year 7
Very fruity palate with a mix of stewed fruits, dessert wine, apple peels and honey. Becomes
quite oaky late palate.
SPEYSIDE
Knockando 12 year 7.5
Most significant aromas are Cadbury Fingers, brown bread with butter, sultanas and honeydew
melon.
Glenfiddich 12 year 6.5
Sweet, touch of oak and general fruit, oily.
Glenlivet 12 year 7.5
Full and rich with notes of chewy, tannic oak. Manuka honey and walnut with Cox's apples and
orange peels. Cut herbs - fennel and spearmint.
Cragganmore 12 year 7.5
Rich, honey, stone fruits, chestnuts, walnuts, almonds. Berries.
Glenfarclas 10 year 6.5
Winter spice. Fruitcake, toffee, hint of smoke.
