THE PRICE/TRAVEL
TRADE-OFFThe trade-off between location and price has
always been a key consideration for buyers
and tenants. In our latest survey, the top three
factors when choosing a property to rent were:
affordability, proximity to work/university and
access to public transport.
As a general rule of thumb, most people want
to live within a 45-minute commute of their
workplace - a threshold that has guided
locations for Build to Rent investors.
Infrastructure investment opens up new areas
and shifts property prices. We have noted
an increased willingness to move along
the price vs travel time continuum.
