The Foxtons website has had hits from
every country in the world, with 9% of
new tenancies started in 2019 being
tenants moving from overseas.
To cater for our diverse customer
base, My Foxtons allows tenants
to communicate maintenance
requirements in 40 different languages.
In a recent tenant survey we
conducted, 30% of respondents
said the landlord's identity did
not influence their decision on
whether to rent a property or
not, and a further 59% did
not know the identity of their
landlord. Whilst tenants will
eventually become more familiar
with landlord brands, estate
agents still remain the first
port of call.
Buyers are prepared to pay a premium
for a more energy efficient home.
Properties sold in London in 2019 with
an A, B or C EPC rating achieved 14%
more per square foot, on average,
than homes with a D, E or F rating.
Meanwhile, a property's environmental
sustainability credentials were
important for 28% of tenants in a
recent Property Academy survey.
Just 14% of tenants said it wasn't
important to them.
Tenants do not want to
compromise on where they
live and have increasing levels
of demands from their property.
Many want professional
landlords, amenities and a
24-hour concierge as standard,
but are prepared to pay more
for outside space, pet-friendly
accommodation and on-site
security.
In our experience,
the hunt for the
right combination of
commuting time and
property price has a
45 minute limit.
Understanding this helps
us evaluate all possible
options for tenants.
