Caribbean cruise aboard the Carnival Vista.
In New Orleans you will find a flavour of the Old South with a distinct French accent, famed for its filigree wrought-iron
work in the French Quarter and Mardi Gras celebrations which herald the beginning of Lent. Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday),
is the last day of the Carnival season as it always falls the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Shop at the
beautiful river walk and take a ride on the streetcar line dating back to 1835. Visit Jackson Square in the heart of the
French Quarter where the gray spire of St Louis Cathedral towers high in the air. Bourbon Street is where the music
never stops and looks much as it did during the 1700s and 1800s with buildings crowding a narrow sidewalk.
Houston, Known as Space City after NASA built the manned spacecraft centre. This city has everything to offer from
the 17-block Theatre District with the Bayou Place Entertainment Complex, filled with hundreds of restaurants & shops
to over three hundred parks to be explored.
Galveston is an island city on the Gulf Coast of Texas. It's
known for Moody Gardens, where giant glass pyramids
house sharks, monkeys and other animals. Amusement
rides and restaurants line Galveston Island Historic
Pleasure Pier on the south shore. West is bird-rich Galveston
Island State Park, with its trails, kayak launches and fishing
spots. Stewart Beach and East Beach are on the island's
eastern end.
