The Big Opportunity
Steve Elshaw, Hastings Freight:
During the past few years the Palletways ofering
has seen many changes when it comes to Europe;
the most recent being the addition of the Czech
Republic and Slovakia. 8 hubs now link 13 diferent
countries with 350 Palletways members servicing
the myriad of continental routes. The service is daily
and the customer's freight is totally visible.
There really is a fantastic opportunity out there;
I would estimate that 70% of the customers I see
on a daily basis have European freight as well
as domestic.
Why are Palletways diferent to the other networks?
What is the one big thing that separates your
product from all the rest?Answer.... YOU!
Stand tall, smile, be conident and dip your bread.
Member Highlights
Speedy Growth
Speed Welshpool has opened
its new £150k, purpose-built depot
following high demand for their
services across mid-Wales
and Shropshire.
The company's new 40,000 sq
t depot is situated in a 3.5 acre
brownield site at a former quarry
and is capable of storing 2,000
pallets in its two state-of-the-art
storage buildings.
The new site has also created 20
jobs for the local area and is a sign of
Speed Welshpool's rapid
expansion, with the company
growing from just 10 staf in 2010
to 40 staf today.
Come On You Oxford
Palletways Oxford has continued their
sponsorship of local football team, Didcot
Town FC, for the 2013-14 season.
Continuing their support from last season,
the Palletways logo will be displayed on
the pitch-side advertising hoardings and in
match programmes throughout the year.
Steve Parkes, General Manager of Palletways
Oxford, said: "Ever since moving into the
area, I've been an avid supporter of the
local Didcot football club. Like Palletways,
football relies on teamwork to succeed
and hopefully our sponsorship will help to
further the team's future success".
Reason To Be Cheerful
Coventry-based Reason Transport has launched its new depot following a
£1.5m investment, which will also see the creation of at least 15 full time jobs,
with further recruitment planned later in the year.
The new modern 20,000 sq t warehouse is, situated on the historic RAF
Upper Heyford Air Base, and boasts the latest management technology
which is supporting increased eiciencies in the delivery of services across
Oxfordshire, as well as parts of Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. It also
provides heightened security and a new inter-depot transport service. The
entire operation will revolve around the new warehouse, ensuring eicient
throughput of vehicles to reduce standing time and associated emissions.
In addition to the new warehouse, Reason Transport has also taken receipt of
11 new collection and delivery vehicles.

Dominic Purslow, Jack Richards & Son:
The low ebb for Europe's economy has detracted
from UK businesses exploring valuable
opportunities and leaves many businesses daunted
by the task of understanding shipping abroad.
Palletways Europe Group has a strong niche product
and provides an easy solution for those wanting to
enter the market. Europe is growing and the winners
will be those ready to catch the ball - drop it and
you're out.
Do other logistics providers do a better job? If you
believe so, the door of your market will close just
when it's about to open. The opportunity to grow the
European network is probably better than it's ever
been you just don't know it yet.
