Palletways UK may soon have to
invest in a larger trophy cabinet ater
the network had its most successful
year for award wins in its history,
scooping four major accolades.
Each of these awards is a
testament to the dedication of
the network, members and staf.
They demonstrate to customers,
decision makers and competitors
that Palletways is committed to
consistently delivering the highest
possible standards throughout
the network, whether that be staf
development and welfare, customer
service or developing innovations
that support our operations.
Below is an overview of the awards
we won together in 2013:
Express & Star, Best Place to
Work Award - The award, ofered
by Birmingham media giants,
The Express & Star Group, is
presented to the company that
has improved performance as a
result of outstanding commitment
to professional and personal
development, corporate social
awareness and action regarding
environmental issues.
This award is a direct result of the
tireless efort that Palletways staf
give on a daily basis and relects
the highly skilled and committed
employees that make this
network possible.
Global Freight Awards,
Innovation Award for New
Process - Palletways Archway
Scanning System (PASS) has claimed
another accolade; this time at
the Global Freight Awards, which
recognise the best practice in freight
and logistics.
Judges were highly impressed
by PASS, which has been directly
responsible for a 23% improvement
in pallets handled per shit and a 6%
reduction in the costs per pallet.
Palletways was also shortlisted for
Employer of the Year, Innovation
Award for New Product for its
Palletways Operations in Real Time
(PORT) system, and Road Freight of
the Year Award.
British Computer Society,
Business IT Innovation of the Year
Award - This award acknowledges
new hardware or software products
that make the biggest contribution
to business technology or to IT
in general.
Palletways was recognised for
PASS and PORT developments,
which have provided management,
employees, network members
and customers with a single point
of access for all services in real
time 24/7/365. Other organisations
shortlisted for the award included
Virgin Media, BT and Telefonica.
Insider, International Logistics
Award - Presented by leading
Midlands business publication,
Insider, the Awards celebrate the
region's excellence in international
trade and recognise the
accomplishment of companies and
organisations operating in this ield.
The International Logistics Award
was presented to Palletways for its
impressive 15 per cent increase in
turnover resulting from a strategic
growth programme across Europe.
The network now comprises more
than 300 depots and handles nearly
30,000 pallets a day.

The New Year has
brought with it a
reshule of the UK
Sales & Commercial
team, as Palletways
looks to make the most
of the opportunities
that lie ahead.
The new UK & Sales Commercial team was born
out of the business restructure in September 2013,
following an assessment of the strategic objectives
for the next few years. They have already identiied
a number of key target areas, including looking at
addressing certain inbound trunk capacities.
The team are on hand to provide support
throughout the membership, where required,
assisting with account management and providing
accurate management information in real time to
