Social Work and Social Care Research and
Evidence Group
In line with their commitment to providing high quality,
evidenced based, up to date services, the Southern
Health and Social Care Trust (SHSCT) continue to
progress their social work and social care research
and evidence group.
The Social Services Workforce Development and Training Team lead on and/or
offer support to frontline services which require a strengthening of their evidence
base.
The Group supports the overarching aims and objectives of the regional Social
work Strategy and aims to develop a culture within the Trust that supports research
evidence within social work and social care in its delivery of high quality
care and outcomes for service users and carers.
This group has supported the publication of a number of journal articles focussing
on areas including community development and supporting final Programme
Learning Outcome (PLO) social work students progressing into their Assessed
Year in Employment. There are also a range of literature reviews and evaluations
which are ongoing.

Congratulations to our service users and carers and social
work practitioners who successfully completed Module 1
(Systematic Narrative Review (2020-2021). A number of
whom plan to proceed to Module 2in September.
Peter Beck, Jake Lange, Nigel Morris, Scott Fleming, Abigal
Gourdy, Noeleen Higgins, Andrea Hegarty, Emily Wilson and
Liam Bradley.
