Interest Group and the biennial Decisions, Assessment, Risk and Evidence in
Social Work conference (DARE), offering local practitioners and service users an
opportunity to engage with international experts. He is currently pioneering
Evidence into Practice Special Interest Group of ESWRA (2021) attracting
interest from eminent colleagues in academia and social work practice.
Brian retired in August 2021.
Brian will be very much missed by his colleagues and his students. I know that
many people trying to find initiatives that will entice Brian to stay engaged with us
and many more do not actually believe or have come to terms with Brian's
imminent retirement at Ulster University.
We all wish Brian sincere happiness and health as he moves into the new chapter
of his life so that he can enjoy some well-deserved down time with Mary, his
family and those many hobbies that we know he has - but bet there is another
book or two in there yet.
