Research has played an important part in midst of the Pandemic. The impact of
Covid 19 on Research has however been huge. Many studies that were paused
because of the COVID-19 pandemic and its associated measures have reached
a natural conclusion and some have stopped completely. The UK-wide Clinical
Research Recovery, Resilience and Growth Task Group has been established in
recognition of the need for the re-establishment and reinvigoration of the
research agenda.
The NI Clinical Research, Recovery, Resilience and Growth Taskforce has
been established chaired by Professor Mike Clarke (Director of NI Clinical Trials
Unit & NI Methodology Hub).
The role of this group progress work locally and respond to national
implementation plan of which there are 7 theme areas

Anne McGlade Social Care Lead is a member of the Northern Ireland task force
and a member of the PPI and Priority Setting Group. The latter is co-chaired by
Margaret Grayson (Public Involvement Enhancing Research) and Professor
Jonathan Jackson (Co-Clinical Lead, NICRN (Vision).
