Irish Probation Journal
The Irish Probation Journal is a joint publication
between the Probation Board for Northern Ireland and the
Irish Probation Service.
The Journal provides a forum for sharing theory and
practice, increasing co-operation and learning between the
two jurisdictions and developing debate about work with people who have offended.
Each Journal contains articles submitted from probation practitioners, academics
with a general or specific interest in probation work and from those not directly
working in probation services but have an interest in it. In this way the Journal has a
balance of evidenced research, practice and theory. Whilst it does have a cross
border focus, the publication has expanded over the years to include theory and
practice from across the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.
The Irish Probation Journal is an annual publication and is launched at the annual
Public Protection Advisory Group seminar, which takes place in November of each
year. It is then distributed to Universities, organisations and individuals as well as
being published on websites.
This year will see the publication of the 18th
edition of the Irish Probation Journal.
You can read the latest edition of the Irish Probation Journal online e on the
Probation Board's website Check out the Youth Wellness Project - an
example of co design and co-production with
young people.
