Pedigree Needlepunch Carpets are manufactured from 100% solution dyed
polypropylene fibres and as such are highly stain resistant and completely
waterproof. Their needlepunch construction - also known as fibre bonded
constructed carpet - consolidates thousands of fibres to create one of the
most durable textile floor coverings available. A simple care and maintenance
program will ensure that your Pedigree carpet will retain its good looks
throughout its life, even in the most harsh industrial traic conditions.
Dirt barriers
Independent tests prove that up to 90% of the total floor covering cleaning costs
within a building is spent in removing walked-in dirt. An efective entrance system
which can trap outdoor dirt and moisture is therefore a very worthwhile investment.
Whilst a very durable carpet in its own right, a very cost efective solution is to use
Pedigree SMOKEY for this purpose ensuring that it is installed at 90 degrees to
oncoming traic, as the specification for the block design requires this.
Daily care
Regular vacuum cleaning of your carpet will remove loose soiling before it compacts
(becomes embedded at the base) and requires wet cleaning methods to disturb it.
We recommend daily vacuum cleaning in commercial heavy duty traic areas and
at least twice weekly in commercial medium duty environs. As the pile density of
Pedigree carpet prevents air movement, the recommended vacuum type is one that
incorporates a revolving beater bar brush (turbo or power-head).
Spotting and stain removal
Vacuum using a machine incorporating a rotating brush (powerhead or turbo)
slowly and in every direction across the textile surface, which efectively loosens
and removes loose dirt and soiling from between the pile before it becomes
compacted (which will then require more frequent wet cleaning methods) in
addition to preventing soil build-up occurring.
Spot stain removal
Always act quickly to remove the spilt substance before it penetrates the carpet fibre
or soaks through to the base. Stains that have been allowed to dry are more diicult to
remove. Generally water based stains on Pedigree carpet can be removed with water
treated with a weakly diluted household detergent and the more stubborn types
of stains with a proprietary carpet spot cleaner or a carpet dry solvent cleaner for
synthetic carpet fibres. Refer to the Stain Removal Chart at the end of this instruction.
