Youngsters from the 7th Lichfield
Scout Group are in a buoyant
mood after receiving a muchneeded
donation from Palletways
HQ UK.
The team from Fradley presented
the Group with a 40ft container
worth £2,000 which they will
use to store their kayaks and
canoes at Manor Park Sailing
Club in Kings Bromley.
Mike Armstong, chair of the Scout
Group, said: "We are a charity and
as such, are reliant on help from
companies such as Palletways.
We are finding that paddle sports
are becoming increasingly
popular and combined with the
fact that we are also growing as a
Group, we've had to invest in
lots of new kit. We'd been on
the lookout for a new storage
container for some time, knowing
that having the ability to store
more equipment would ultimately
mean that we'd be able to take
more youngsters onto the water.
We couldn't have been happier
when Palletways got in touch to
say that they'd help us out and are
really grateful for their donation."
Katie Lawton, Marketing Executive
Palletways (UK) Ltd, added:
"Once we heard that the Group
needed new equipment, we
were determined to help. We are
committed to supporting the local
community wherever possible and
we'll take great pride knowing that
we are helping youngsters enjoy
paddle sports this year and for
many more years to come."
Members and customers will be pleased to know that Palletways has
recently secured re-accreditation to the international ISO 9001 standard for
a further three years.
Palletways has continuously met the ISO 9001 quality standard since 1996
and this recent re-accreditation covers all Palletways UK owned sites until
2017. This includes its central hub at Fradley Park, Lichfield along with its
other UK hub operations in Greenford and Livingston and the depot in
Didcot. The re-accreditation also applies to the Benelux hub in Nijmegen.
In order to achieve continued certification to the Standard, external auditors
carried out numerous surveillance assessments into the robust, efficient
and effective quality management systems, which underpin Palletways
operational and business activities.
For Palletways members, this means they are part of a network which
adheres to the most stringent quality systems and gives customers improved
levels of confidence and trust in the service that the company delivers.
Tim Bentley, SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) Manager
Palletways (UK) Ltd, said:
"Consistent use of the ISO 9001 over the last 18 years has provided us
with a framework to sustain and grow the business. Adopting an instantly
recognisable and widely understood quality system, which includes consistent
and repeatable processes, has helped the business to function in a disciplined,
systematic way and this re-accreditation means that we'll continue to be
known as a world-class quality organisation."
