This represents the most significant investment and game-changing development in the
Group's history and within the pallet network sector as a whole. We are taking big data into
the pallet network sector. Information is power and our Digital Information Hub provides
instant access to data and total transparency across our operations and commercial
landscape for the benefit of our members and our customers.
Luis Zubialde, Managing Director Palletways (UK) Ltd"
Vision 20:20
in the spotlight
The official launch involved a media briefing, which was
attended by leading logistics publications including Motor
Transport, Commercial Motor, Storage Handling Distribution,
Roadway and Freight Business Journal.
Led by Luis Zubialde,
Craig Hibbert and
Richard Miller, the
briefing provided
an overview of the
Vision 20:20 strategic
blueprint as well as a
demonstration of the
key features of the
Digital Information Hub.
At the time of going to press, the media
campaign to support the launch of
Vision 20:20 was underway. It includes
media information targeting the
logistics and market sector media as
well as tailored press releases being
sent on behalf of every UK member to
their local media.
Following the media briefing
Peter MacLeod (Storage Handling
Distribution) and Chris Druce
(Motor Transport and Commercial
Motor) took part in an exhilarating
driving experience in a £95,000
AMG Mercedes on the circuit at
Mercedes Benz World.
"Anything that improves the quality and reliability of
information in the freight supply chain is a good thing.
Speaking as an end-consumer who has spent many hours
and days waiting at home for deliveries that never arrived, or
arrived several hours late, I can only applaud any initiative
that leads to precise and accurate delivery times. The trick
with software up to now has been to make it easy enough to
use by operators, to ensure that they will in fact use it and
pass the information on to their
customers - and if Vision 20:20
can achieve that, it will be
no bad thing."
Chris Lewis, Editor, Freight
Business Journal
""Having recently reported on issues surrounding pallet
deliveries to domestic addresses and the increasing
customer services demands placed on pallet network
members, Palletway's new digital hub looks like a much
needed break through, which has the potential to set a
new standard in pallet network service levels."
Peter Shakespeare, editor, Roadway Magazine.
Delivering a network
digital
I applaud Palletways' ambition. It's an exciting time to be involved in the UK logistics industry,
and opportunities are there to be taken by those who are hungry for them. Palletways' Vision
20:20 initiative will put it in a fantastic position to continue to capitalise on the growth in the
logistics sector and to best overcome the challenges that come with an increase in volumes.
