Delivering a network
It is the largest and most significant development to date in Palletways 20 year history. The real time Digital
Information Hub, which was rolled out in the UK in November following months of extensive training for
the company's employees and its 100 plus network members, has been created to drive up performance
on a scale never seen before in the industry. Once bedded into the UK network it will be implemented in
Palletways networks across Europe.

The Mobile APP
Members will also have access to a
mobile APP, which will allow them to
record a POD regardless of the mobile
coverage. The APP stores the signature
on the mobile until it reaches a cellular
coverage area and then downloads its
data to update the consignment status.
The APP also allows Palletways depots
to track all drivers while out on the road.
New features to be added soon include
the ability to print delivery labels for
the pallets on a mobile printer and also
capture recipients' signatures on screen.
New customer
Digital Dashboard
Customers will be given access to
a new Digital Dashboard enabling
enhanced data entry and address
maintenance. From the home screen
of the dashboard customers can see
all of their consignments that are out
for delivery that day on a map and, as
deliveries are signed for, the delivery
status marker on the screen turns from
red to green indicating that they have
been successfully delivered.
Hub Vision
The Digital Information Hub visually
shows all network vehicles arriving at
Palletways regional and national hubs,
thereby providing the highest level of
consignment visibility across the pallet
network sector. Just like an air traffic
control system the relative position of
vehicles can be viewed on a map by
operations management, then held
and scheduled, improving the speed
and efficiency of pallet sortation and
ultimately delivery to customers.
Advanced mapped
routing
Palletways' network members now have
the ability to plan their routing with a
visual reference showing where all of their
collections and deliveries are on a map.
This will help members to increase the
productivity of their vehicles by reducing
the mileage they travel and in some cases
reducing the number of their trucks on
the road, thereby providing cost savings
and environmental beneits. Optimised
routing also further enhances the
eiciency of the network's deliveries
and in turn takes customer service and
satisfaction to new levels.
Consignments at Risk
The consignments at risk screen shows
any consignments that may have not
passed key performance indicators
at any stage during their transit and
could therefore be at risk of not being
delivered within service times. This
proactive tool ensures members are
aware of potential problems and can
endeavour to resolve them before they
impact on customers.
Messaging
A new messaging platform allows
members to communicate with each
other instantly on any aspect of
delivering a customer's products via
the network. The Digital Information
Hub also allows the network to 'speak'
directly to its customers in one place,
eliminating the need for emails and
telephone calls.
Consignment Analysis
With a couple of clicks of the mouse all
members in the network can quickly
create delivery profiles for their
customers by visually showing the
destination of the customer's freight via
a heat map. The map can also be used to
see the types, volumes and geographic
density of deliveries. This tool can
be used to help members highlight
potential new market opportunities for
customers by analysing their existing
delivery profiles.
