James Wilson
Network UpdateIn the latest Quarterly
Video Review, Chief
Executive, James
Wilson, summarises
last year's successes
and talks about
his aspirations for
Palletways during
2015.
Investment in technology
We enjoyed tremendous success last year. In the UK, the
introduction of the Vision 20:20 strategy was a key focus. As
part of that strategy our Digital Information Hub will ensure
that our member network continues to benefit from marketleading
technology while offering network customers superior
services. It has now been launched in Iberia and we look
forward to rolling it out across our entire European network
over the next year.
Strong performance in mainland Europe
Italy and Iberia maintained strong growth with both territories
reporting record volumes. We opened a new hub in Nijmegen
and introduced overlapping networks in the Rhine/Ruhr valley
region for Benelux and Germany - this means that anyone
sending pallets to or from this important industrial area will
benefit from the most efficient solutions possible. We continue
to expand the German network and are beginning to see
growth in membership numbers and volumes. We are already
Europe's number one palletised freight network and the
accelerated expansion of PEG will enhance and strengthen our
pan-European services.
Major investment plans
We have ambitious plans this year to extend our international
networks eastwards, including Switzerland over the next 12
months, followed by the Eastern Bloc countries. There are
also many opportunities for significant growth across Europe
through the launch of new domestic networks, France and
Poland to name just two. We are also planning to expand
regional hubs into Germany and new areas of the UK.
People focus
We continue to be the only network which has group-wide
Investors in People accreditation - this is a great achievement
which allows our members to benefit from the quality and
stability that it creates.
Raising pan-European awareness
We are proud to have a business of an increasingly significant
scale on an international basis and will be supporting Milan
Expo 2015, using the event as a platform to further generate
awareness across Europe.
Our long term success is underpinned by growing our
relationships with some of Europe's finest businesses and
strongest brands. We are uniquely able to offer them a wide
range of pan European services combined with the intelligence
of the new Digital Information Hub. We are looking forward to
further growth and development this year and beyond.
