OA Round-up
Having become a National Race
Officer in 2007 I have been
involved in the management
of several large sailing regattas,
including the Olympic Classes Sail
for Gold events at the Weymouth
and Portland Sailing Academy for
the last three years. In September
2012 I will be one of the race
officers running the racing for the
Paralympic classes at their

Stephen Parry - Carpenter
Olympic Regatta. I sold my last Flying Dutchman and
having been involved with Class for nearly 40 years I will
be attending the European Championships in Spain at
Easter and the World Championships in Santa Cruz in
September as an official. I now race my First 35 regularly.

Nicholas Alexander -Woodard
Professor Nicholas Alexander recently took up the role
of Head of the Department of Marketing at Lancaster
University Management School. Lancaster University is
currently ranked among the top one percent of universities
in the world and holds top ten positions in all major UK
university league tables: he Times, the Guardian and
the Complete University Guide. Professor Alexander's
research interests are in the area of international marketing
and branding.

I was recently appointed
General Secretary of
the Flag Institute. his
photograph was taken

also an OA.
In the last few years, and with a team of friends, I have
completed several charitable challenges; non-stop Devizes
to Westminster Kayak marathon that took 33 hours,
climbed the Cullin Ridge on Skye, and completed the 3
peaks in under 20 hours, to name but a few. In 2011 we
were resting but look forward to posting details for 2012.

Mark Brewer - Carpenter
I have just returned from Papua New Guinea, after working
in the jungle for the last 3 months.
his summer I completed a 4000 mile enduro motorcycle
trek with my friend Sam Cuttriss from New Zealand.
Starting from San Francisco, we crossed the Colorado
Rocky Mountains, traveling 1200 miles through wilderness
on dirt trails, camping much of the time. Full trip report
at www.advtrail.com. For the last two years I was a visiting
faculty at CCA in San Francisco, teaching undergraduate
science, graduate fine art and graduate design. I'm
currently living in Berlin, studying towards a PhD in Art
at Goldsmiths College, London, and working for a hedge
fund in New York. Unmarried. No children.
