School News
King's had good numbers of pupils starting in September and a full and
active academic and sporting term with some notable achievements. We
were delighted to win the Pringle Trophy again for the third year running,
under the expert management of Pete Belfield OA. he Friday afternoon
lecture series for the sixth form has included several OAs speaking on
a variety of subjects and we welcome further volunteers. We had an
excellent cast for the Pirates of Penzance which you can see on Youtube.
Some of our sixth formers attended the Networking evening hosted by
Steve Ingham and have enjoyed work experience and advice from OAs as
a result of their attendance.
he junior rugby teams had an outstanding season: between them, the U14,
U15, and U16 A teams lost just 5 out of their 38 games.
We have several new projects about to be launched, including a new cookery
school, which will enable pupils to gain the Leith's cookery qualification.
he archive collection has now moved into its new premises, which we will
officially open on 30 June 2012 at the OA Open Day. We look forward to
2012 and do hope that OAs will visit us either for an OA event or just to drop
in; you are always welcome!
