OA Books
In recent months we have had news from a number of OAs who have published books. Below are just a few of the stories
that we have received.
Can you help Tom Chippendale? Tom has written a novel
and is seeking a London or provincial publisher. he book
portrays the story of a family from a North country village
who experience both First and Second World Wars with
catastrophic consequences. heir lives interact not only
with a high class German family, but also with a criminal
element from their own home village. here are a few
copies of the manuscript available and offers of help
welcomed.
he Pelican Golf Society held its Autumn Meeting at the Berkshire Golf Club, near
Ascot, on hursday, 17th November. One of the premier inland golf courses in
England, the Berkshire is always a pleasure to play. he Winner, Paul Griffiths, took
full advantage of benign conditions, scoring 42 Stapleford points off a handicap
of eight - a truly excellent round. he Pelican GS is always eager for other golfing
OAs to become members - there are several fixtures a year either in the West
Country or Home Counties, and newcomers receive a hearty welcome. More
information can be obtained from the Club Secretary, Martin Evans, whose email

my Irish-born father who was a leading British songwriter
in his day. It includes historical background from the
