Sick Leave
When you are feeling unwell, it is important you speak to your Manager at
the earliest opportunity to inform them, discuss handover of any work and
discuss your likely return date.
Employees are entitled to 30 (thirty) days sick leave per 3 (three) year cycle.
During the first six (6) months of employment, an employee is entitled to one
(1) day's paid sick leave of every 26 days worked. After six months of
employment the above mentioned will apply less any sick leave already
taken. Sick leave not taken in the sick leave cycle is neither carried over nor
paid out.
On your return, an absence request form must be completed and supported
with an approved Doctor's certificate. Managers should discuss any concerns
with HR who can help find the best solution.
An approved Doctor's certificate must be provided when:
• Before and/or after a weekend (i.e. Monday and Friday);
• Before and/or after a Public Holiday;
• Absent for more than 1 (one) consecutive day
Good to Know
• Inform your manager as soon as possible
• More than 1 (one) day absent - obtain an approved Doctor's
