Good to Know
• Standard entitlement for full-time employees is 18 days per year (pro
rata depending on start date)
• All employees with less than 5 years' service, working 4 days per week
will be entitled to 16 (sixteen) consecutive working days annual leave
p.a.
• All employees with less than 5 years' service, working 3 days or less
per week will be entitled to 1.5 days leave for every 17 days worked.
(i.e. working 3 days per week: 52 x 3 / 17 x 1.5 = 13.75 days p.a.
• All employees with more than 5 years of service will have an
additional 3 days leave per annual (i.e. working 5 days per week = 21
working days p.a.)
• Staff with 10+ years of service will have a further 3 additional working
days leave per annum (i.e. working 5 days per week = 24 days per
annum)
• Holiday year corresponds with a calendar year i.e. Jan to Dec
• Max. 5 carry over days to be used by May in the following year
Public Holidays
All employees are granted public holidays, irrespective of religion. In
accordance with the Public Holidays Act (Act No. 36 of 1994) religious
observances that do not coincide with public holidays will be granted as
annual leave.
