Overtime
We recognise the importance of having an effective work-life balance.
However, we understand it may be necessary to work over your normal
working hours to ensure a task is completed.
Overtime should only be completed in exceptional circumstances, with prior
approval from your Line Manager and it should by no means become the
norm.
All employees, with the exception of those above the threshold, will be paid
overtime for hours worked in excess of normal hours of work. Please note
that travel time to and from meetings would not normally be approved.
It is important for employees to take adequate breaks when working
overtime. Employees are expected to take a minimum 30 minutes unpaid
break after every 6 hours of work.
Synexus SA will not require the employee to work more than twelve (12)
hours per day and more than ten (10) hours overtime per week.
Overtime rate is one and a half times (1.5) the employee's basic pay. Overtime
may be substituted, if agreed with the employee, with time off in accordance
with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act subject to approval from
Synexus SA.
Synexus SA will not compensate any overtime worked by an employee
without prior written approval from the employee's supervisor for such
overtime to be worked. Employee Handbook SA
