"Sympathetic new buildings and facilities
have ensured that King's is meeting the
needs of a modern education for young
women and men. I for one have derived
great pleasure from sponsoring those
suggested to me. I recommend other OAs
to likewise support the College and help to
provide for the secured future of King's."
Garth Pedler OA, Carpenter 1964
"My time at King's, after leaving home,
growing up in an ordered environment,
experiencing the discipline of the OTC
and eventually becoming Meynell House
Captain, all prepared me well for life in the
Royal Navy. I joined my first ship a month
after leaving the school in 1936, three
years before the start of WW2. Returning to
King's 74 years later, I was amazed at the
fantastic development and improvements in
all that the school has to offer students, both
academic and practical. The school merits
all possible support in order to continue to
provide young people with such a superb
preparation for life."
Lt Cdr Michael T Marwood DSC OA,
Meynell 1936

FUTUREYOUR PLANS
ACTIONS
SPEAK LOUDERTHAN WORDS
"As the years advance one appreciates
more and more the way one was affected
by early experience in life. Whilst detailed
memories of being at King's fade, my
sense of gratitude to the school grows ever
stronger. Supporting King's is a fine way to
give that gratitude concrete expression and
to enable more people to enjoy the King's
experience."
John C Q Roberts OA, Woodard 1950
Reasons to consider including
King's College in your Will
A long line of people have given
before; and anyone who benefits
from an education at King's College
benefits from this past generosity.
King's College is not blessed with a
large endowment to maintain the fine
record it currently enjoys, it needs
constant support.
Giving is an opportunity to express
the gratitude you have for a King's
education.
Providing places for deserving pupils
is important to the future of the
school.
Including King's College in your Will
could benefit your family inheritance
tax planning
Provision for both King's Hall and

"I urge every OA in their Will to give
something back to the school that gave us
all so much. An easy and worthwhile thing
to do which makes so little difference to
the overall inheritance that we leave to our
loved ones. My own children applauded
wholeheartedly when I told them of my
King's legacy and said how right it was.
Individually it is a simple matter to arrange;
collectively it means so much and will be of
enduring benefit to future generations."
Tom R C Webster OA, Meynell 1948
BECAUSE
THANK YOUMATTERS
The Old Pelicans Society
All our legators become members of the Old
Pelican Society. The OPS has been formed to
recognise those who have left a gift to King's
College in their Will. It provides the opportunity
to thank those donors properly and to keep them
informed of the school's plans and achievements.
Membership is open to anyone who lets us know
that they have made a bequest to the school. All
members are invited each year to a Benefactors'
Day at King's College and Christmas Lunch in
London.
We hope that you will consider becoming a
member of this very special society.
"To be a part of the King's community is
to have friends for life. The Chapel is at the
heart of the school and to walk through the
corridors is to be met with smiles."
Mary Jaquet - Friend of King's (Widow of
Mansel Jaquet, Head of Classics
1947-1983)
