King's Christmas Lunch
Hong Kong Reception
John and Mary Crabtree visited Hong Kong in
November 2013 and were hosted by Franklin Heng
OA. A whirlwind visit around the highlights of Hong
Kong was followed by a meal on Saturday night
where OAs who had been taught Maths by John
were able to catch up on their news. Leisa Lavender
was also visiting Hong Kong that week and joined
OAs and Friends for a memorable meal organised by
Ricco Yeung OA.

he Cavalry and Guards Club, Piccadilly, was the glittering
venue for this year's London Lunch. he company was no
less splendid including two former Custodes, two former
Headmasters, and two current Headmasters as well as a
range of OAs who had been at the school from the 1940s
- 1970s.
An enjoyable Christmas lunch was followed by an address
from Rear Admiral Sir Robert Woodard, the great grandson
of our founder, who encouraged us all to think about
legacy giving as a means of supporting the school. His
vivid narrative of Nathaniel Woodard's original fundraising
tactics, including locking the doors at charity lunches, had
many surreptitiously glancing at the locks!
he highlight for many came after lunch when members of
the current King's Choir treated the gathering to a variety of
beautiful festive choral music, making this a truly warm and
festive occasion.
