Resuscitation Team
The Ulster Hospital can report that they had 'No' 6666 calls for 6 weeks in the Summer 2017. This is
the first time we have had 'no' calls over a similar period.

Recognising critical illness and preventing cardiac arrest are complex tasks, each requiring the
presence of several essential steps to ensure clinical success.
Chain of Prevention
We hope this achievement of 'No' calls stemmed
from:
• Effective escalation of patient care to prevent
cardiac arrest
• Appropriate use of DNACPR forms
• Resuscitation training provided to staff within
South Eastern HSC Trust!
To try and address the problem of low BLS
compliance we decided to run a workshop.
We then successfully ran our first e-BLS road show offering back to back 35 minute classes and
had 90 attendees!
Staff feedback was positive and encouraging. We plan to run further workshops throughout the
year.
