International Nurse Objective Structured
Clinical Examination (OSCE) Preparation
Centre
We have established a very productive International Nurse OSCE Preparation Centre here within the
Ulster Hospital (old Ward 5).
Under the guidance of the Clinical Educators supported by the Practice Education Team and a range
of non-ward based nurses we are actively supporting our international nurses to achieve their NMC
required OSCE examination. This allows them to apply to the NMC Register and thereafter become a
very important part of the Trust nursing family.
To date we have supported 6 international nurses, all of which are now registered NMC nurses
working throughout the wards in the Ulster Hospital. We have another 11 candidates about to embark
on their journey and we wish each and every one success.
The OSCE Centre is open every Friday and we would encourage any member of the nursing family
to call in and see 'what goes on', especially from wards where our international staff are assigned.

Education Facilitator Pamela Russell.
