The Trust have a team of dedicated Family
Nurses.
The work taking place, good client engagement
and the positive changes evidenced, are
testament to the skilful and accomplished way
in which each nurse is working.
The team encourage young vulnerable clients,
many with adverse life experiences and a
history of abuse or trauma, to make positive,
sustained behaviour change to enhance their
parenting capacity and break the cycle of
intergenerational disadvantage.
Meaningful client engagement is an important
part of the Programme. Clients are regularly
involved in the Family Advisory Board and
encouraged to discuss their experiences with
senior strategic decision makers.
Information is shared in the format of case
studies and data analysis on the impact of FNP.
Family Nurse Partnership
Hearing client stories and enabling them to
express their view is now an established part
of FNP best practice within the Trust, as well
as keeping stakeholders informed about the
programme.
Our understanding of what helps this be
meaningful and effective is changing all the
time but we are mindful that involving clients
must firstly be centred on their needs and
be an experience that is both positive and
contributes to developing their confidence
and self-efficacy.
Our recent Christmas event was well attended
by clients, dads and families. It was well
received both by clients, stakeholders,
professionals and community representatives.
A photo booth and book for clients and their
families to record their feelings about FNP
was a feature of the day!
Comments were insightful and powerful.
