is where things have not changed
in the last 50 years, with a slower
pace of life and a warm welcome
to all. Of course, as you get closer
to the coastal departments of
Loire-Atlantique and Vendée,
you will fi nd bustling cities and
glamorous resorts. Nantes
is often quoted as having the
highest quality of life in France.
The mediaeval streets in the old
town are fi lled with a mixture of
tourists and students (the city has
an excellent university). You will
pay a premium price to be in or
close to the city, which is home
to many major companies.
The western side of the
region has some glorious seaside
resorts - the Vendée alone has
over 200km of coastline - and is a
popular holiday home destination.
The Vendée Globe yacht race
starts and fi nishes at Les Sables
d'Olonne and is another sporting
event that attracts the eyes of the
world; we really are spoiled.
Property is in high demand
throughout the region -
popular with both domestic and
international buyers. In fact, there
is a distinct lack of new properties
coming onto the market; if you
are looking to sell, then there
has probably never been a better
time. For buyers, the good news
is that our team in the Pays de
la Loire still has an impressive
portfolio to choose from, with
something to suit every budget.
