year-round destinations. Skiing
and snowboarding are a given,
but the explosion in popularity of
cycling, hiking, wild swimming and
other activities make the French
Alps the perfect playground for
outdoor types.
The property market
throughout the region has
been red-hot, with demand far
outstripping supply. Here in
Courchevel, land is scarce, and
we have seen demand for sur
elevations on older-style fl atroof
apartments. This is where a
developer buys the rights to build
an extra fl oor, whilst agreeing
to make improvements to the
building itself (façade, windows,
insulation, maintenance of
communal areas). This is a winwin for
all parties. We do have
a number of new developments
in-resort, and the Leggett team is

Prices have risen over the
last three years, and we have seen
increasing demand for the smaller
villages of Courchevel, which have
excellent public transport to the
ski areas. Bozel, on the valley
fl oor, is in huge demand, as are
properties in Champagny, where
you get terrifi c value for money.
