Citadel de Besançon
Dijon
Arbois
La Meuse
to visit, and the river Doubs runs
right through the city, encircling
the spectacular old town. I would
heartily recommend visiting the
Porte Noire, a triumphal arch
built by Marcus Aurelius in the
2nd century.
If food and drink is your
thing (and what better passion
to have), then Dijon is around
an hour away. Universally agreed
as the gastronomic capital of
France, the old public hospital
here, the Cité de la Gastronomie
et du Vin, opened in May this year.
It has 5,000m² of retail outlets, a
4-star hotel, and eight boutiques
dedicated to French artisans.
Being so close to Holland,
Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany
and Switzerland, we do have a
wide selection of international
customers. With Leggett
becoming better known in the
area, this is now spreading to
the UK and America. Indeed,
with the dollar at a twenty-year
high against the euro, I have sold
six properties to Americans in
the last 12 months. I also have
viewings lined up for another
American couple, so by the time
you read this, I hope that this
number will have increased to
seven. Leggett are perfectly set up
to service buyers from a distance,
and we make the most of the
technology available, including
virtual tours and electronic
signatures. Nothing beats local
knowledge, and I do like to strike
up a rapport with all my clients.
If you are thinking of selling
your property in the Haute-
Saone, why not get in touch so
that I can quickly introduce you
to some of our many buyers,
from both near and far!
