12 Antony Marks - King Alfred 1947
I have just celebrated my diamond jubilee of Ordination (60
years). I am not in active ministry now although my local
parish of Compton Martin where I lived for 35 years were
pleased to mark the occasion with a celebratory Eucharist
along with a beautiful cake decorated with a marzipan
vicar! I also received a signed card from the Archbishop
of Canterbury. My call to the ministry was very much
influenced and helped by the School Chaplain Fr. Miles
Sargent.

Greetings from beautiful Tasmania. We are entering winter,
however so far we continue to enjoy mild days, but I must
admit the warmth is brief. his is a really lovely place to live.
I continue to enjoy the various places of stunning scenery.
I have over the past years looked after properties on the
island when the owners go on well-deserved holidays. My
next away trip is for three weeks looking after a home and
animals of various types on a vineyard south of Hobart. Yes
there are some chores to be done but there is plenty of
time for bushwalking, golf etc, which in my 80's I continue
to enjoy, albeit a bit slower. Family is on the mainland and
in the lovely Spring and Summer visit on a regular basis,
coming over by ferry from Melbourne. So life is fantastic.
Regards to all at King's, especially anyone from Meynell in
the early fifties.

I am still a Non-Permanent
Judge of the Hong Kong Court
of Final Appeal. My term ends
in mid-September this year: So
retirement as a judge is imminent.
In the meanwhile I have accepted
appointment as an Honorary
Professor in the Faculty of Law, Hong Kong University, for three years. his brings me
back to Hong Kong each year for a series of lectures. In
the meanwhile we are living on the Coffs Coast (eastern
seaboard of New South Wales) where my wife and I help to
look after a grand-daughter, now 4 months old. And so the
diurnal treadmill gently turns, even as the shadows lengthen.

I have been a volunteer watch keeper with the NCI at Stepper
Point near Padstow. NCI is a charity run by volunteers, with
over 50 stations around the UK.
he aim of NCI is to "spot, plot and report" life-threatening
incidents on the coast or at sea. We monitor water users,
beach users, and walkers..
If you are still reasonably active, and live within striking
distance of the coast, why not consider volunteering to
become a watch keeper with the NCI?
If you are lucky enough to live in North Cornwall check
out the Stepper Point web site www.stepper-point.co.uk/ or
check the national website.
David Burston - Woodard 1955
In July I had very happy reunion in London with Dick James,
Howard Fall and David Burston who joined King's in about
1950. I invited Arthur Keeling OA, Tuckwell 2013 to join us -
what a delightful young man and a credit to King's.
