Jim Scott - KCT
At the end of term a combined staff/OA team took on the
current King's College 1st V squash team to mark Jim Scott's
last act as Head of Squash.
Jim has been responsible for squash at King's from 1985 to
2015, and during this time has made sure that it is a vibrant
and accessible sport. In his last year in charge he has guided
the team to that rarest of achievements, an unbeaten season.
In recognition of his outstanding service and contribution
to the sport, it was the school's great honour to dedicate
a court to Jim. When asked which court he would like, the
choice was simple for Jim: court no. 4 has been a perennial
favourite and from now on it will be known as the Scott
Squash Court.
We say a fond farewell to Jim as he retires, not only from his
squash duties, but also from his role as Head of Biology.

Vicky Holmes - KHS
Matron's contribution was
recognised when the boarders
celebrated her 40 years of
dedication with a memorable
meal. After a heartfelt tribute
Matron was presented with
a unique bowl, hand painted
with the school logo and all the
children's names.
Bob Coupland - KHS
After 27 years of running the team, Saturday
27 June, saw the end of an era as Bob
Coupland officiated in his last match in
charge of the King's Hall 1st XI. Fittingly, it was
an exciting match enjoyed by all the boys.
It is his sense of fun and enjoyment, which
the 300 plus boys, who have played for the
1sts during Bob's tenure, will remember him
for. Being a Yorkshireman, cricket is a serious
business for him, but he realised that not
many individuals produce their best when
they are not enjoying it; not taking himself
too seriously has been a quality that all his
teams warmed to.
We wish Bob and Vicky well as they move on
to new adventures. We are also delighted to be
hosting the OA Dinner at King's Hall in November
when Bob and Vicky will be guests of honour.
