King's new Bursary Fund
he news of the launch of a new bursary fund may be of particular interest to OAs who wish to leave a bequest which
specifically benefits pupils. he fund will be used to finance bursaries and scholarships for pupils whose parents might
otherwise not be able to afford the full school fee. King's Schools want to encourage interest from families who might not
previously have considered the schools as an option.
£1 million has been raised and invested to start the fund. he objective is to raise £5 million over the next ten years, primarily
from bequests.
Richard Biggs, Headmaster of King's College said: "King's Hall School and King's College have a well-deserved reputation for
offering an outstanding all-round education in an environment where children flourish. It is our vision that future generations
of girls and boys should benefit from the outstanding education our schools provide, regardless of parental income."
Justin Chippendale, Headmaster of King's Hall School, said: "It is important that perceived barriers are reduced and that people
who would never have considered applying to King's are able to contemplate the possibility. Education is a fundamental part
of life, and we wish to extend access as far as we possibly can."
