I strolled over to re-introduce myself to Paddy after all these
20 plus years expecting to have to jog his memory - I was still
50 yards and walking towards each other when he exclaims
"bloody hell its Williams!". Now it staggers me to this day how
many kids have been through Paddy's care yet he appears
to remember them all even after 20 years. Similarly with
Graham and Patricia Hall, these people so unselfishly gave
up so much of their time for the benefit of so many kids. So
when Morgan tells without prompting that's what he wants
to be it fills me with immense pride and admiration for I am
sure if he can be half the teachers I had the good fortune to
experience he will live a gloriously fulfilling and satisfying life
ahead of him and perhaps inside of me is a frustrated school
teacher - who knows.
I have not been good at keeping in touch with my year
group and sometimes wonder how they all have lead
their lives, if you are a 1984 leaver feel free to email me

James Learmont - Carpenter 1985
I am currently serving in NATO Headquarters in Brussels
which it has provided fascinating insight to the strategic
level of command. Being a part of the Wales Summit was
extraordinary and gave unprecedented exposure to key
strategic decision-making at a complex time. I have also
been selected for promotion to Brigadier and will take up
my new appointment as the Deputy Commanding GeneralInteroperability
with the United States 82nd Airborne
Division in Fort Bragg, North Carolina later this year. I was
also awarded the Commander of the Order of the British
Empire (CBE) in the New Year's Honours List.
Sheldon Cole - Perretts 1987
On holiday in the South of France recently I, Becky and our
children met up with my old school friends and fellow OAs
Alex Viale, Simon Parry and Fred Viale - for the first time in
over 20 years!
From the left:- Alex Viale (Perratt's, 1990), Simon Parry (Perratt's, 1988), Fred
Viale (Perratt's, 1988), Sheldon Cole (Perratt's, 1987)
he photo was taken at Alex's beach club and restaurant La
Pinede in Saint Clair, near Le Lavandou.
Nicholas Burt - Woodard 1988
Nicholas' company, Orchards Cookery, won 'he People's
Choice Britain's Favourite Large Cookery School' (again) at
the end of last year in the British Cookery School Awards
2014 as well as being finalists in other categories. We were
also shortlisted in the Food and Travel Magazine Reader
Awards 2014 (shortlist was 7 Cookery Schools in the UK)
which was rather nice. We are about to publish our first
hardback colour Cookery Book in the next couple of weeks
too as well as expanding the school this year.
