Who can apply? How long is the Programme?
This programme is suitable for anyone who
wants to learn basic improvement skills.
The programme is delivered over the course
of the year as a series of free, facilitated minicourses.
What does the programme involve? Programme Content
The programme is organised into four
essential learning areas or suites:
1. Quality improvement theory
2. Quality improvement tools
3. Measuring for quality improvement
4. Spreading quality improvement
Each mini-course consists of five segments
totalling 2.5 hours of online learning,
discussing and practising. Each course can
be taken at any time to suit the learner, but a
scheduled week will be allocated when the
facilitators will be available throughout each
day to discuss and assist learners.
Quality Improvement Project Completion of Programme
The courses are free to take part in, and
are delivered entirely online in the form of
videos, articles, discussion and practical
exercise that contribute to your own
improvement project.
Throughout the programme, participants
will be guided to put their theory into
practice and can submit a piece of work at
the end showing how they have done this.
After successfully completing each minicourse,
you will receive a certificate of
completion.
Webinars
Various webinars are announced through the Innovation Centre email at QIIC and can be viewed at
your own computer or by attending QIIC where a room is pre-booked to view the webinar with other
colleagues. Staff can choose to join as many webinars as they wish. These are available to Trust
staff as advertised on the email.

NHS Improvement Fundamentals
This is a programme of online self-directed mini-courses in quality improvement for those involved
in health or social care services.
