PHOTOGRAPHY HND
(SCQF Level 8)
Course overview
This practical course will allow you to expand upon your
existing photographic skills and takes you beyond the
basics during your first year of study, introducing a range
of specialist techniques and genres which you will probably
not have experienced before. During the second year, you
will add to your experience, building skills and knowledge
while focussing on the areas of the creative industries you
might wish to work in after your studies.
Minimum entry requirements
• NC/NQ in Photography; OR
• Higher Photography at Grade C or above AND National
5 English at Grade C or above; OR
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience AND
• A portfolio of your photographic work, both digital and
printed.

PHOTOGRAPHY NQ
(SCQF Level 6)
Course overview
If you're interested in learning about photography, then
the NQ Photography course is the perfect starting point. It
allows you to develop a wide variety of skills in a range of
very hands-on projects, in photographic studios, on location
and in a traditional black and white darkroom.
You'll have access to new, well-resourced photographic
studios and be able to develop your creative ideas using a
wide variety of digital and film cameras, lighting equipment
and specialist kit.
Minimum entry requirements
• Two National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above
including English and a design/creative subject; OR
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

PHOTOGRAPHY BA (HONS)
(SCQF Level 9/10)
Course overview
In this course you'll develop the practical and critical skills
needed for a practising photographer. Guest lectures
and workshop sessions are an important element, with
opportunities for business, entrepreneurship and enterprise
activities. A self-directed approach to your studies will allow
you to tailor your portfolio towards your own photographic
interests. During the fourth year of this course you'll focus
on and develop your skills and knowledge towards your
own photographic goals.This course is delivered by the City
of Glasgow College and validated by the University of the
West of Scotland.
Minimum entry requirements
• HND in Photography.
You will be interviewed and assessed on your portfolio.
• You must also meet the general admission requirements
of the University and apply via UCAS.

CONTEMPORARY ART PRACTICE BA (HONS)
(SCQF Level 9)
Course overview
This is a practice-based degree, where you'll have
opportunities to explore two and three-dimensional
art as well as lens-based and digital disciplines. You'll
have opportunities through your studies for professional
placements in the arts and for curation and self-promotion.
Critical thinking and writing are also central to the course.
This course is delivered by the City of Glasgow College and
validated by the University of the West of Scotland.
Minimum entry requirements
• HND in Contemporary Art Practice (or equivalent) with a
good pass in the graded unit; OR
• Relevant professional experience.
You must also meet the general admission requirements of
the University and apply via UCAS.
