FASHION AND RETAIL NQ
(SCQF Level 6)
Course overview
On this course you'll explore aspects of branding,
marketing, retail buying, merchandising and display. The
course is not design-orientated but helps develop an
understanding of the creative processes of retail fashion and
how it's managed. You'll have the chance to create, design
and implement your own fashion event, or show, to gain the
relevant experience and skills.
Minimum entry requirements
• Three National 5 qualifications including English; OR
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

RETAIL MANAGEMENT HND
(SCQF Level 8)
Course overview
This course provides you with the skills, knowledge and
understanding for a career within the world of retail. The
course provides the foundation necessary to fill trainee
management positions or run your own small retail business
covering all aspects of the retail environment. You'll also
have the opportunity to develop your digital communication
skills.
Minimum entry requirements
• Two Highers at Grade C or above in relevant*
subjects; OR
• NC or NQ qualification at SCQF level 6 in a relevant
business subject; OR
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience.
* Relevant subjects include English, Business Management,
Economics, History, Mathematics, Media or a Science
subject.

SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT HND
(SCQF Level 8)
Course overview
This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills
you need to work within the operational supply chains of
a business organisation. You'll gain insight, learning and
transferable skills across all core operational areas of supply
chain management, procurement, logistics, storage and
operations.
Minimum entry requirements
• Two Higher Grade passes at Grade C or above including
English (Modern Studies, Economics, History or
Business); OR
• Adult learners with some relevant experience, or who
hope to move into this area, may be accepted subject to
interview.

BUYING AND SUPPLY CHAIN OPERATIONS
MANAGEMENT HNC
(SCQF Level 8)
Course overview
This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills
you need to work within the operational supply chains
of a business organisation, as well as giving students an
insight into the world of procurement where skills are in high
demand across a very buoyant job market.
Minimum entry requirements
• One Higher at Grade C or above in a relevant* subject
AND Nat 5 English (or equivalent) and a numeracy based
subject at a similar level if not passed at Higher; OR
• Three National 5 qualifications at Grade A in relevant*
subjects; OR
• NC/NQ containing a minimum of 12 credits, more than
one credit at SCQF level 6; OR
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience, where
verifiable evidence has been provided such as
qualification certificates or employer references.
* Relevant subjects include English, Mathematics,
Business Management, Economics, Geography, History,
Administration, Modern Studies, a Science subject.

ACCOUNTING HNC
(SCQF Level 7)
Course overview
HNC Accounting has been designed to meet the demands
and requirements of the Accounting Industry. The course
focuses on the technical skill of students to be able to
process accounting information for a variety of organisations
including Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited
Companies. Training is included on popular accounting
software such as SAGE Accounts and SAGE Payroll.
Minimum entry requirements
• One Higher at Grade C or above in a relevant* subject
AND Nat 5 English (or equivalent) and a numeracy based
subject at a similar level if not passed at
Higher; OR
• Three National 5 qualifications at Grade A in relevant*
subjects; OR
• NC/NQ containing a minimum of 12 credits, more than
one credit at SCQF level 6; OR
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience, where
verifiable evidence has been provided such as
qualification certificates or employer references.

ACCOUNTING HND

Course overview
HND Accounting has been designed to meet the demands
and requirements of the accounting industry. The course
focuses on teaching you to process accounting information
for a variety of organisations including Sole Traders,
Partnerships and Limited Companies. You will also learn
how to handle both Financial and Management Accounting
scenarios and prepare written reports to communicate the
outcomes.
Minimum entry requirements
Year one:
• Two Highers at Grade C or above in relevant*
subjects; OR
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience, where
verifiable evidence has been provided such as
qualification certificates or employer references.
* Relevant subjects donot include: Art and Design, Design
and Manufacture, Drama, Graphic Communications,
Health and Food Technology, Languages, Music, Media,
Photography and Physical Education.
Year two:
• HNC Accounting full time course with 15 credits; OR
• HNC Accounting part time course with 12 credits.
• External applications for HND Accounting year 2 will not
be processed until the middle of August 2020 as internal
candidates are given priority.
