CYBER SECURITY NQ
(SCQF Level 6)
Course overview
Cyber security is one of the fastest evolving areas of
business and government today as online systems make
up the foundations of the digitally-enabled economy. The
course is an introductory level course developing a basic
understanding of the fundamental tools and techniques
of key areas such as Data Security, Digital Forensics and
Ethical Hacking.
Minimum entry requirements
• Four National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above
including English and Mathematics and Computing or
Physics; OR
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

CYBER SECURITY HND
(SCQF Level 7)
Course overview
This course will teach you how to protect networks,
IT systems and individuals against Cyber-attacks and
Cyber threats, and to understand your legal, ethical and
professional responsibilities. Cyber security is one of the
fastest evolving areas within business and government
today as online systems make up the foundations of the
digitally-enabled economy.
Minimum entry requirements
Year 1:
• Two Highers at Grade C or above in a relevant subjects*
AND three National 5 qualifications at Grade B or above
including Computing or Information Systems; OR
• National Qualification at SCQF level 6 in a relevant
subject such as Digital Media Computing, Computing:
Technical Support or Software Development; including a
suitable reference; OR
* Relevant subjects include Computing, Information
Systems, Mathematics or Physics.
Year 2:
• An HNC with relevant options plus a suitable reference.

COMPUTING HNC
(SCQF Level 7)
Course overview
This is a hands-on course which will allow you to study
towards an up-to-date qualification, covering many of
the skills that are in high demand for a range of different
careers in the software development/programming sector
of the computer industry. These include developing skills
in C# and Java, System Design, Android Development,
XML, Event Driven Programming, Databases and Project
Management
Minimum entry requirements
• One Higher at Grade C or above in a relevant subjects*
AND three National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above
including Computing or Information Systems; OR
• One Higher and three Standard Grades at Credit Level;
OR
• One Higher and three National 5 qualifications OR
• A national qualification at SCQF Level 6 in a related
subject (such as Digital Media Computing, Computing:
Technical Support or Software Development).
* Relevant subjects include Computing, Information
Systems, Mathematics or Physics.
