FINANCIAL SERVICES HND
(SCQF Level 8)
Course overview
This course is very similar to HNC Business, however, you
will study some specifically selected units to give you an
advantage if applying for roles in Financial Services. The
second year of the course looks more closely at specific
financial services sectors such as Investment, Pensions,
and Insurance.
Minimum entry requirements
Year one:
• Two Highers at Grade C or above in relevant*
subjects; OR
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience, where
verifiable evidence has been provided such as
qualification certificates or employer references.
* Relevant subjects include any from a STEM discipline or
English.
Year two:
• HNC Financial Services course with 15 credits**
• Applications for HND Financial Services year 2 will not be
processed until mid August 2019 as internal applicants
are given priority.
** Internal applicants must complete 16 credits undertaken
in the NQ Financial Services qualification, including all
units specific to Financial Services.

ACCOUNTS WITH COMMERCE NQ
(SCQF Level 6)
Course overview
This course provides an introduction to both Financial and
Management Accounting and gives sufficient training in
accounting procedures and techniques to enable you to
progress further academically or to be equipped sufficiently
to attempt clerical level types of employment in an
accounting environment.
Minimum entry requirements
Year one:
• Two National 4 and One National 5 qualification at Grade
C or above in relevant* subjects; OR
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience, where
verifiable evidence has been provided such as
qualification certificates or employer references.
* Relevant subjects cannot include: Art and Design, Design
and Manufacture, Drama, Graphic Communications,
Woodwork, Health and Food Technology, Languages,
Music, Media, Photography and Physical Education.

(SCQF Level 7)
Course overview
This course is very similar to HNC Business, however,
some units have been selected specifically to give you an
advantage if applying for roles in Financial Services. The
course will provide you with the key competencies required
by anyone entering the Financial Services Industry as a
trainee, or at a technical level, or for anyone already working
in such a position but wishing to lay the foundation of a
professional career.
Minimum entry requirements
• One Higher at Grade C or above in a relevant*
subject; OR
• Three National 5 qualifications at Grade A in relevant*
subjects; OR
• National Qualification at SCQF level 5 or 6 in relevant*
subjects; OR
• NPA in Financial Services and/or successful completion
of Year 1 Foundation Apprenticeship in Financial Services
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience, where
verifiable evidence has been provided such as
qualification certificates or employer references.
* Relevant subjects include any from a STEM discipline or
English.

FINANCIAL SERVICES WITH FINTECH HNC
(SCQF Level 7)
Course overview
This course provides you with the skills required for a
career in the Financial Services Industry at clerical, sales
or administration levels. It will help you develop your
communications, customer service and IT skills. This course
will teach you how to use Fintech, new technology which
uses specialised software and algorithms to help manage
financial operations.
Minimum entry requirements
• One Higher at Grade C or above in a relevant*
subject; OR
• Three National 5 qualifications at Grade A in relevant*
subjects; OR
• National Qualification at SCQF level 5 or 6 in relevant*
subjects; OR
• NPA in Financial Services and/or successful completion
of Year 1 Foundation Apprenticeship in Financial Services
