ART & DESIGN: APPLIED ARTS NQ
(SCQF Level 6)
Course overview
You'll develop skills in various techniques of handling
ceramic, jewellery and art glass materials. You'll learn design
and drawing skills and understand the practical applications
of various media, firing techniques and the use of workshop
and studio equipment.
Minimum entry requirements
• National 5 Art and Design and National 5 English at
Grade C or above; OR
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

APPLIED ARTS HND
Year 2 Direct Entry (SCQF Level 8)
Course overview
The course is project-based and you'll explore your own
creativity. Projects concentrate on designing, exploring
and making, drawing and personal expression. This
course could provide you with a variety of work suitable
for a portfolio, with an emphasis on applied art techniques
in Art Glass, Applied Ceramics, Jewellery, Textiles and
Performance Costume.

• HNC Applied Arts.

Course overview
You'll take part in an exciting and comprehensive
programme of design and specialist craft studies. The
course could provide you with a variety of work for your
portfolio with an emphasis on techniques in Art Glass,
Applied Ceramics, Jewellery, Textiles and Performance
Costume.
Minimum entry requirements
• Two Highers at Grade C or above in Art and English AND
two National 4 qualifications; OR
• NQ Art and Design; OR
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

ART GLASS HNC
(SCQF Level 7)
Course overview
You will take part in an exciting and comprehensive
programme of design and specialist Art Glass studies. The
course is project-based, and you'll be concentrating on
designing, exploring and making, drawing and personal
expression. The course could provide you with a variety of
work suitable for a portfolio, with an emphasis on Art Glass.
Although we teach making skills on the course, it's an
advantage to have experience in working in 2D and 3D and
also making skills in different media.
Minimum entry requirements
• Higher Art and Design at Grade C or above AND two
National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above; OR
• NC/NQ in an Art and Design subject; OR
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience.
