BAKERY SUPPORTED LEARNING NQ
(SCQF Level 3)
Course overview
If you have mild learning difficulties this course will help
you learn practical skills in Bakery, Cake Decoration and
Practical Cookery so you can find a job in the Bakery
or Hospitality industry. The course is also ideally suited
for school leavers who would like to work towards the
successful completion of a National Progression Award in
Professional Cookery at SCQF Level 3.
Minimum entry requirements
• National 2 qualifications in Numeracy or Literacy are
desirable.
• A keen interest and basic knowledge of bakery.
• Other equivalent qualifications or experience.

BAKERY NQ
(SCQF Level 4)
Course overview
This course is designed to offer school leavers and those
with no formal bakery qualifications an opportunity to study
the subject at an introductory level. You will be able to
make a range of sweet and savoury baked goods, including
bread, pastries, pies, cakes, gateaux and desserts.
Minimum entry requirements
• 2 National 3 qualifications are desirable ideally in
Numeracy and Communication AND
• Some basic knowledge of Bakery.

Course overview
Want to develop your bakery skills? This course will
help you gain the practical experience, knowledge and
qualification needed for a job in the Bakery Industry. You'll
have the opportunity to study and train for a career as a
baker or cake decorator.
Minimum entry requirements
• NQ Bakery Level 4 (SCQF 4).
• Three National 4 qualifications (Health and Food
Technology/ Hospitality, desirable).
• And/or relevant work experience.
• Other equivalent qualifications.
