A
competitive match against a strong
Wycliffe side was a stern test for
the Under 16s. Man of the match
Shaunessy Abrahams put on a terrific
display in goal though, and our efforts
were rewarded with a goal for Lukas
Erdmann.
Against Shapwick, we scored first after
five minutes, thanks to a Lukas Erdmann
strike from the edge of the box, only for
Shapwick to equalise midway through the
half. King's scored again early in the
second half through Toby Johnson, but
Shapwick hit back quickly, and as we
pressed for a winner, they netted twice to
secure their win.
We enjoyed a spirited, lively contest
against QEH Bristol, but conceding two
penalties in the second half left us too
much to do. And the season came to an
end with a hard-fought battle against
Blundell's. Scoreless at half-time,
Blundell's managed a breakthrough shortly
after the interval, and though we pushed
forward desperately for the equaliser, we
just couldn't find the back of the net.
The Under 15s played four games -
highlights of their season included
three goals against Wycliffe thanks to
Matt Thorne, Louis Wood and Joe
Buttery. There was also a welldeserved
draw in a very competitive
game against Sherborne's Bs.
JRShimali cancelled out an early
Sherborne goal, and we took the lead
through Charlie MacEacharn after
Louis Wood had hit the crossbar from
the edge of the box. Jevon Garbutt
was superb in goal, restricting
Sherborne to just one further goal.
The Under 14s had a terrific 4-2 win
over Bristol Grammar School, and an
equally impressive 4-0 victory
against Sherborne's Cs. But the
season ended in defeat at the hands
of a powerful QEH Bristol team.

T
he girls had a thoroughly satisfying
5-1 win against Shapwick. Jess
Sones scored a hat-trick, and there
were further goals for Beth Beale and Erin
Slade. We played strongly throughout the
match, but had to defend well at times,
with both Pearllan Cipriano and Alicia
Mileham excelling in goal.
The reputation of King's as a centre for
girls' football continues to grow, attracting
girls with a real passion for the sport. Our
Under 18 girls competed for the first time
in the ISFA National Cup and secured a
4-1 win over Malvern College, with goals
from Pippa O'Neill, Erin Slade, Penny
Guess, and a long-range strike from India
Gavin. We now have Under 18 and Under
15 girls' teams competing in local, regional
and national football events, as well as
Under 13 and Under 11 sides from King's
Hall School, where football is also popular.
Erin Slade remains a regular in the ISFA
Under 18 National Girls' team and has
also now signed for Yeovil Ladies. This
season Under 14 Beth Beale was a
regular in the boys' Under 14 side, and
was acknowledged by her teammates and
opposition as one of the stronger players
in a good side - with an FA rule change
this season, Beth will also now be able to
play in the boys' Under 15 side.
