10,000 More Voices Bereavement
Stories
The 10,000 More Voices Project 'The experience of
Bereavement Perspectives of Family, Carers and Staff'
was published in May 2019 and made a number of
recommendations to improve the experience of bereaved
people.
This included the 'Consistent Provision of the Bereavement
Information Resource'.
The report recognised that 62% of respondents whose
relatives died in hospital had received the Trust Bereavement
Booklet, the target is 100%.
The Trust Bereavement Forum undertook a number of
actions to improve this variance, these included:
• To monitor the distribution of bereavement
booklets in Inpatient Wards and contact
departments which did not regularly make
use of the booklets
• To raise awareness of the resource at
nurse induction and other educational
events
• To revise the current Trust booklet and
promote its use.
The Trust booklet can be accessed via :

The new booklet will be launched in February 2020
and it is hoped that the actions above will increase the
awareness of and accessibility of this important resource.
