I
t's been a year of unprecedented
national success for King's; our Chapel
Choir won the BBC Songs of Praise
Senior School Choir of the Year
competition, and our rugby players won
the Rosslyn Park Sevens. With our
new headmaster Richard Biggs well into his
first term with us, King's is indeed an
exhilarating place to be. He has already made
a mark on staff and pupils with his warmth,
humanity and sureness of touch.
Don't forget to keep in touch with day-to-day
updates on news, as well as match reports on
every fixture played, by visiting our website
www.kings-taunton.co.uk. We're very proud of
what our pupils achieve, and hope you enjoy
reading about their successes week by week.
During the King
Alfred Holiday, 13
pupils and four staff
climbed North
Africa's highest
mountain, Mount
Toubkal, that stands
over 12,000 feet
high!
The English department
organised a special Reading
Week to coincide with World
Book Day in March. A
week-long Book Fair was
held in the Woodard Room,
and book recommendations
were posted on the intranet.
The 1st XI Pavilion
celebrated its centenary this
term with a six-a-side
tournament between school,
staff and two OA teams,
won by the Under 35 OAs.
The Parents' Association had their inaugural
dinner, to the sounds of Sam Brown's highly
acclaimed jazz band.
