Canford, who were bowled out
for 78; Louis Wood and Henry
Dufosee passed this in just
eight overs.
The Junior Colts A team
began with a pre-season tour
to Worcestershire, beating
Kingswood, and on the way
to winning against Malvern
College before the rain came.
Only two fixtures were lost all
season, with impressive wins
against Millfield, Blundell's and
Taunton. Player of the season
was captain James Clark, who
bowled some devastating spells,
most notably againt Monmouth,
where he bagged five wickets in
six balls, including a hat-trick. Other notables were Jack Scrivens
and Josh Coetzee, but all players put in impressive performances.
The Junior Colts B had a successful season, winning four of
their seven matches. Bowling is probably the team's strong suit
and Sam Everard was player of the season - a particular highlight
being his four wickets for 14 runs against Millfield. Among the
batsmen, captain Charlie Collins and opener Cameron SouterFrost stood out, but with 20 players fielded over the season, there
were wide contributions to the team's success.
Arguably the most successful
team of the season was the
U14As, who were undefeated
throughout. There were many
high points: the win against
Bryanstone by 144 runs; Kazi
Szymanski's 93 runs against
Castle School, and beating
Taunton for the second time
in the season, by ten wickets.
The team also won the county
cup, with a final victory over
Haygrove School by 128 runs.
The U14Bs also shone, with
six wins out of seven matches,
including wins against Millfield,
Blundell's and Exeter. Strength
in depth was the key, with nine
or ten competent batters and
eight or nine competent bowlers - a coach's dream! Top batters
were Zac Higginson, Dan Luedicke, Angus Lyon, Henri Wilmott,
Charlie Lavender and Charlie Clough, while bowlers Finley
Hayton, Toby Glazebrook, Hughie Kelsey, Henry Shaw, Dan, Zac,
Henri and Charlie ensured that no-one scored much more than a
hundred against them.
In total all of our teams won an astonishing 80% of their games
- a real credit to our coaching staff and our players for the effort
they put in, and the spirit in which they played.

Girls' Cricket
The girls had a handful of games cancelled due to the
weather, but when they did play they showed their usual
skill, talent and physical endeavour.
Pippa O'Neill captained the team brilliantly, and finished
the season with some excellent scores. She was well
supported in the 6.2 year group by Ellie Maclean. With a
number of talented girls coming through, there will be work
going on through the winter, with the intention of adding
more games to the fixtures list next year.
