All the pairs are to be
congratulated on the
hard work they put into
these fixtures, with
everyone's individual
efforts meaning the team
as a whole came out on
top. The U15A finished
off an impressive season
by winning all but one of
their LTA regional league
matches, only losing to
Millfield.
The U15B team had a
less successful season,
however they managed
two convincing wins
against Blundell's. All
girls played extremely
well.
The U14s have
benefitted from some
excellent coaching from
Miss Amanda Cox and other enthusiastic staff coaches and made
fantastic progress during the term. The U14Bs adapted well to
a new playing surface at Taunton School, where they won their
match easily; it was excellent to see the consistency of serves.
Olivia Shaw and Taylor Williams were pair of the match for their
convincing wins.
The U18 2nd team were unbeaten, with wins over Canford,
Blundell's and Taunton school. The 1st team too had convincing
wins over Blundell's and Canford. The girls performed impressively
at the ISTA Tennis Championships at Eton College, where Grace
Murray and Pearl Cipriano won the U19 plate competition and
Beth Beale and Samantha Church won the U15 plate competition.
Most Improved Senior Player award went to Phoebe Smith and
Player of the Season went to Grace Murray. Most Improved Junior
Player was awarded to Olivia Shaw and Player of the Season was
awarded to Samantha Church.
Special thanks must go to the leavers for their commitment to
tennis over the years. Mini Taylor has played for the 1st team
for the past three years and captained the team this year. Pippa
O'Neill worked hard to gain her place in the 1st team and Erin
Slade and Mini Clark have been committed 2nd team players.
