Looking back at last year's
Aluredian, I wrote "Rarely can a
school year have been so packed
with success than the last twelve
months." I think most people
would agree that the last twelve
months have surpassed even that.
We have had record-breaking
examination success, the near
completion of a new £2 million
library, two brand new state-ofthe-art
astro pitches on the main
school site, spectacular
performances on the cricket
field, a jaw-droppingly powerful
production of Les Misérables,
national and international
success for two of our athletes,
and life-changing trips and
expeditions. Oh, and the Royal
Marines won the Sir Steuart
Pringle Trophy for the first time
in the school's history.
We have started the new school
year with news that our marines
amazingly have won the trophy
again for the second year
running, and our former Custos
Magnus Mowat has been named
Independent School Governor of
the Year.
Keep up with all our news and
reports on every sports fixture
played by logging on to our
brand new website
www.kings-taunton.co.uk
I hope you gain as much
pleasure reading about this
remarkable year at King's as we
did living it!
