T
he 3rds narrowly lost their
first fixture against Blundell's
5-4, but Megan Ameye and
Amelia Evans won all three
sets, and Lucy Dunham and
Kitty McIntosh had some
competitive games. Against Clifton though we
dominated throughout to win 8-1, Megan
Ameye and Amelia Evans playing some brilliant
tennis, winning all three sets and dropping only
one game! Harriet Butterfield and Caroline
Lloyd also won all three sets.
Against Taunton School it was another
convincing win, Rebecca Potter and Kate Taylor
appearing for the first time this season and
proving a force to be reckoned with. Kitty
McIntosh and Lucy Dunham also managed a
clean sweep of their three sets.
An injury against Canford meant that Kate
Taylor had to play on her own for a set! Hattie
Kean stepped in as her partner for the rest of
the match, while Caroline Lloyd and Harriet
Butterfield picked up a good set at the end of
the afternoon. The 4ths thoroughly enjoyed
their first fixture of the term, Rebecca Potter and
Anna-Sophie Oertzen winning two of their three
sets. Lucy Dunham and Kitty McIntosh too did
well, picking up a set against strong opposition.
Like the 2nds, we took our game against
Millfield down to the final set, which we
unfortunately lost. But the story had a different
ending against Sherborne, when the deciding
final set was won 6-2 by Kate Taylor and
Hermione Warmington. Megan Ameye and
Amelia Evans won two sets, as did Harriet
Butterfield and Caroline Lloyd. The 4ths had
an enjoyable fixture, but struggled to adapt
their game to the low bounce of the astro
courts. There were two good wins though for
Lucy Dunham and Kitty McIntosh, who played
with determination throughout the afternoon.

2nd VIT
he 2nds had a terrific season,
losing only to Canford and
Millfield. In the opening
match against Blundell's,
Hollie Bell and Martha Gray
forged a solid partnership,
winning two of their sets. Hebe Mills and
Hermione Warmington started slowly but
recovered to win their next two sets, while
Harriet Butterfield and Caroline Lloyd had a
convincing win against the Blundell's first pair.
Clifton was a close match which we won 6-3,
with lots of exciting rallies and several sets
going to a tie-break. Jossie Zilkha and
Charlotte
Palmer
played
superbly,
winning all
three of their
sets. We
had a very
satisfying
6-3 win at
Taunton
School, Hatti
Mason and
Milla Bell
winning all three of their sets. Hollie Bell and
Charlotte Palmer won two sets comfortably,
while Harriet Butterfield and Caroline Lloyd had
a good win against Taunton's third pair.
Megan Ameye and Amelia Evans played their
first game for the 2nds against Canford, and
managed a good win against their third pair.
The next week, both King's and Millfield went
into the third rubber having won three sets.
Emma Clyde-Smith and Charlotte Palmer won
their final set, but Millfield won against our
third pair, so everything rested on the final set,
a marathon affair with Milla Bell and Hatti
Mason pitted against the Millfield first pair,
Millfield just coming out on top, 7-5.
Hatti Mason and Milla Bell continued their
excellent run of form at Sherborne, Hatti
dominating at the net. Martha Gray and
Charlotte Palmer proved a winning partnership,
while Emma Clyde-Smith and Hollie Bell
played some entertaining tennis in winning two
of their three sets.
The season ended with a very satisfying 9-0
whitewash at Queen's. Four of the nine sets
were won 6-0 - an outstanding way to end our
season!
