W
e returned to school
in September
celebrating an
outstanding set of A
Level results: 39%
of entries attracted
A* and A grades, and 87% attracted A* to C
grades. Both figures are records for the school.
Of the year group of 77 pupils, 14 gained three
or more A* or A grades. Four pupils have had
their places at Oxford or Cambridge confirmed
and the great majority of the year group have
achieved entry into universities of their choice,
many into highly competitive courses.
Alexander Creswick achieved the most
impressive set of results of all, with three A*
grades (in maths, history and design
technology) and two As (in further maths and
physics) and will go on to study Law at
Durham University. Olivia Higgs achieved an
A* in English and As in biology, French and
history, and will be studying Law at Oxford.
Olawale Lawal secured A*s in maths and
economics and As in art and business studies
and will go on to study economics at Bath.
Oliver Jones achieved the remarkable feat of
scoring 100% in all six of his Latin A Level
exams. He gained A*s in Greek and Latin and
As in maths and French, and takes up his
place to read Classics at Oxford.
New school records were set at GCSE as well:
57% in the crucial A*/A category is an
impressive 6% higher than last year, and sets a
new record high standard at the school.
A remarkable 14 pupils achieved As and A*s in
all their subjects, while 17 pupils achieved six
or more A*s. Amelia Evans, Lucy Sharp and
Henrietta Thomson managed the extraordinary
feat of achieving 10 straight A* grades. W
