T
he Old Aluredian Club is the
alumni association of King's
College and exists to ensure
that former pupils remain in
contact with both the school
and each other, as well as
promoting and supporting the interests of the
school and helping members in distress. The
Club was founded in 1904 and organises a
Reunion Dinner in Taunton and a London
Reception each year, together with other social
and sporting events.
Members are kept in touch by regular emails,
an annual glossy newsletter and occasional
other mailings. The Club also has a website
where members can log in and see news items,
photographs, forthcoming events, reports of
past events and back copies of Club
newsletters, and also update their own contact
details, search for and request contact with
other members and much more.
The Annual Reunion Dinner was held in
November 2008 at King's College and marked
the retirement from King's Hall School of Bob
and Mireille Shinner and Kirstie Guild. All the
guests enjoyed music from current King's
pupils, and there were tables that included
groups of OAs from the early 90s and 80s.
Over 100 OAs, former and present members of
staff attended the March 2009 London
Reception which was held at the Cavalry and
Guards Club, Piccadilly. Former Headmaster
James Batten and current Headmaster Richard
Biggs addressed the gathering.
